The National Newspaper Library of Mexico, 1912-2012: Historiographical Review

Abstract

Este texto brinda una visión panorámica sobre la historiografía de la Hemeroteca Nacional de México, desde que se fundó el Departamento de Periódicos y Revistas en el coro del ex convento de San Agustín hasta el año 2012 (cuando la institución cuenta con un edificio que alberga a sus colecciones más antiguas), y ofrece parte de su acervo digitalizado. El lector podrá encontrar las fechas en que aparecieron las historias de la Hemeroteca, los autores, los títulos, los temas abordados y los datos históricos trascendentes para dicha instituciónThis paper provides an overview on the historiography of the National Newspapers Library of Mexico, starting off the founding of the Newspapers and Magazines Department, in the choir of the former convent of San Agustín, and concluding in 2012, when the institution acquired a building to house its erliest collections, and digitalized part of its acquis for public display. Throughout these pages the reader will discover relevant dates and stories on the Newspaper Library, authors, titles, subjects and another historical data of this institution.
