Tipología y características de las capitulares en los manuscritos de Chilam Balam

Abstract

Este artículo propone un primer estudio de las letras capitulares presentes en los libros mayas virreinales de Chilam Balam. Se analizan las posibles inspiraciones, las funciones que cumplen sus principales características. Adicionalmente, se propone una primera tipología para clasificarlas y se esbozan algunos posibles enfoques para analizarlas, entre los que destacan la relación entre texto e imagen y la retórica visual. |This article proposes the first study of the Initials in the colonial Mayan books of Chilam Balam. It also analyzes the possible inspirations, the functions they fulfill,and their main characteristics. In addition, a preliminary typology is proposed to classify them, and some approaches to analyze them are outlined, highlighting the relationship between text and image and visual rhetoric.
